Hiscox share LeakBot case study at SIR USA 2022
Craig Foster, CEO of Ondo InsurTech PLC and Chris Parker, Head of Vendor Management for Hiscox UK, were invited to the USA’s Society for Insurance Research (“SIR”) Annual conference to share a 50 min case study on how LeakBot can be used to prevent water damage claims.
For more than 50 years, the Society of Insurance Research (SIR) has been providing Members a unique forum to be forward thinking, to network with other insurance professionals, and to learn and share cutting edge developments in research and insurance.
The Society of Insurance Research was founded in 1970 as a non-profit organisation to provide a forum for the free exchange of ideas in all areas of insurance research. The Society includes representation from many different organisations; insurance and non-insurance companies, government agencies, institutions of higher education, and trade associations.
The LeakBot case study was a landmark event as it was the first time Hiscox have publicly shared their insights from rolling out this technology.
The case study was received very well by the US insurance industry. Many insurers in the room had tried other solutions over the last years, and had consistently found moisture sensor pucks to have limited claims benefits, or plumbed in sensors with shut off valves to have no scalable business case due to the prohibitive costs. The new approach from Ondo, as proven and explained by Chris from Hiscox, clearly has broad interest and applicability with US carriers.
Unfortunately the presentation was not filmed, but the slides are available here.
